Welcome to the new UniversalDesign.com!
In 2015, John Salmen, founder and President of Universal Designers & Consultants, Inc., entrusted the future of UniversalDesign.com to the IDeA Center. The IDeA Center is internationally known as a center of excellence in the field of universal design (UD). Founded in 1984, the IDeA Center is dedicated to improving the design of environments and products by making them more usable, safe, and appealing to people with a wide range of abilities, throughout their life spans.
Over the past few months, the IDeA Center developed a new look for the site and added new content. Relevant articles, links, and information will continue to be added. Our hope is that UniversalDesign.com will be a central portal to all things UD. The IDeA Center is interested in hearing from you on what you think the new UniversalDesign.com should look like and/or contain. If you have any ideas, please contact us at (info@universaldesign.com).
The IDeA Center, on behalf of all UD supporters, wants to thank John and his team for identifying the need for such a site, developing a fantastic resource, and allowing us to advance his vision.
