alttext

The Action Trackchair is an off-road electric wheelchair for those who want greater access to outdoor activities like hunting, hiking, going to the beach, and fishing. The Action Trackchair uses large treads to gain traction over uneven or slippery terrain. The chairs are wider than standard electric wheelchairs, with models running from 37″ to 43″ in width. The chair has a top speed of 5 mph, and can be outfitted with a variety of accessories like a fishing rob holder, gun rack, or LED headlights. The newest model, the Action Trackstander, can even convert from a seated to a standing position and will be available in 2013.

Universal Design (UD) is an approach to design that increases the potential for developing a better quality of life for a wide range of individuals. It is a design process that enables and empowers a diverse population by improving human performance, health and wellness, and social participation (Steinfeld and Maisel, 2012). It creates products, systems, and environments to be as usable as possible by as many people as possible regardless of age, ability or situation.
