Keeping demands within desirable limits of body function and perception

The design features of the Aeron Chair provide a supportive and comfortable chair that helps to reduce back injuries caused by the stress on the back of prolong periods of seated work. The Aeron chair includes an innovative mesh seat and back to keep the body cool, which reduces the risk of muscle injury. It has extensive adjustability and easy to use controls so that the user can vary their position periodically in comfort. It also comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large, to better accommodate the needs of people with different statures.

Universal Design (UD) is an approach to design that increases the potential for developing a better quality of life for a wide range of individuals. It is a design process that enables and empowers a diverse population by improving human performance, health and wellness, and social participation (Steinfeld and Maisel, 2012). It creates products, systems, and environments to be as usable as possible by as many people as possible regardless of age, ability or situation.
